New work

I have finally started doing some sampling on a new direction for my work. The piecing technique will stay the same but I am experimenting with the theme of old and rusty boats. This is the first one – Peeling Paint. Still need its binding as you can see on the right hand side.

The fabric was fun to do. It started as a piece of black fabric – I didn’t think much of the discharging process so added textile paints and markal and more paint. Great fun and I hope you feel it represents peeling paint.

Need to get back to the machine and finish it.

Dislocation Book

In the summer, I hung an exhibition for CQ, Contemporary Quilt Group, at the FOQ. There were 79 entries – unfortunately, we could only hang 44 quilts in the space we had which was actually a very good space.

Hilary Gooding has been working with Margaret Cooter and Janet McCallum to produce a book of the quilts in the exhibition. It is now ready and here is the cover which has a link to the CQ Challenges website with details of how to buy the book.

Great to see my copy of the book.
